The Challenge
Four large pedestrian underpass structures were needed on a fast-paced construction program tied to critical race-day milestones — with significant pressure to value-engineer a cost-effective solution against a firm client budget.
Our Approach
We worked through multiple design iterations during the tender phase, costing transport, manufacturing and delivery options at each step. Five large custom moulds were built to efficiently manufacture the precast elements to suit the contractor's install sequence, with complex oversize-delivery coordination to get units safely to site and minimise crane time.
The Outcome
All units successfully manufactured and delivered for off-truck installation, keeping the program on track for race-day milestones.
